The perpetuation of power through hereditarity in Brazil: Brazilian Succession Law and its contribution to social inequality in the country

The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate how the construction of the
country was carried out so that a small part of the population could maintain the status
quo, enjoying perks and privileges, using legal rules for the p
erpetuation and transfer of
power, whether economic or social

in Brazil the two spread. As a specific objective, it
is necessary to present how the application of Succession Law aims at the predominance
of the bourgeois elite, which brings as a product p
erverse social inequality. The
methodology was based on research and bibliography review. Enjoying diverse
bibliographies, the present work makes a chronological structure of the facts that built the
country, with the objective of demonstrating the ailment
s of the Brazilian system, from
its colonization to the contemporary, focusing on the use of Succession Law for the
perpetuation of the elites. Finally, it is intended to end with the criticism of the system
itself, presenting solutions to the problem in q
uestion, with possibilities to move towards
a unique, fair Brazil, which knows its history, and thus, evolves through knowledge.
