The effects of precarious life in the prison system in times of pandemic

The purpose of this work is to analyze the situation of the prison system in times of a pandemic and to present the main violations of the constitutional guarantees of prisoners, as they are deprived of their liberty, but are holders of fundamental rights as provided by the Federal Constitution. The prison system is in a moment of total government abandonment, with overcrowding, scarce food and medical assistance as the main one, focusing on the proliferation of covid-19. To achieve this objective, events in the prison system will be analyzed, based on a qualitative methodology, in which the main focus is to analyze, demonstrate and describe aspects related to the theme. The analyses will be developed using the principles of the Dignity of the Human Person and the prohibition of the practice of torture in Brazil, the violation of constitutional guarantees, the non-applicability of the laws of the legal system and the overcrowding of prisons today.
