Synopsis

Oral hygiene habits introduced and maintained by parents or caregivers
play a fundamental role in preventing diseases such as tooth decay, a public health
condition with greater prevalence in children and characterized by a multifactorial
etiology. Dental caries, due to its rapid progression, can negatively affect quality of
life and result in early losses. Therefore, the need for intervention strategies that
enable families to promote their children's oral health stands out. This study aims to
verify how collaboration between health professionals and families can affect oral
health from the eruption of the first tooth into the oral cavity and affect children's
quality of life.
