Rollers are essential items for the movement of loads in mining, steel, construction
companies, among others, as they are the support base of conveyor belts and such
companies are every day tending to Just-in-Time or at the right time, of its spare
parts, due to the increase in the offer of products, the need to reduce costs, the
desire to increase the activity's profit margins and reduce work and even the desire to
optimize the space used in the Production Process ( PP). In view of this scenario, it
can be said that it is essential to minimize the Setup time and optimize the process
flow with a view, mainly, to reduce the waste(s) that tend to occur. In order to
understand the scenario of a roller factory, this study was prepared under two
considerations: it is a Field Study carried out at the company - Minerrol Indústria e
Comércio de Telas e Roletes Eireli (ANNEX A), located in the city of São Joaquim
from Bicas/MG, with the objective of knowing the layout involved in the PP, through
an analysis of the times involved in movement and production of rollers, according to
the concepts of Lean Production, and the themes involved in the study were
researched in the physical environment; in books, also on websites/websites, where
articles alluding to the topic were consulted, as well as documents made available by
Minerrol. The results showed that it is possible for the company to improve the
production aspect, as long as it chooses to implement a new arrangement of
machines and equipment in the process.
