The impact of Brazilian political polarization on social networks

Synopsis

This research aims to explore the polarization factor in the light of current
occurrences in Brazilian social networks, bearing in mind that these are anonymous environments, which is why they are used as vectors to promote ideological radicalization. Thus, this work aims to explore ways that can mitigate this problem, in order to strengthen democracy and its institutions. As for the methodology, bibliographical and documental research is used in light of the exploratory method. The first chapter deals with the constitutional principles relevant to the subject. The second chapter deals with the importance of social movements for the political debate. The third chapter presents the scenario of polarization in Brazil. The fourth chapter deals with this phenomenon as a way to promote familial and cultural resentment. The fifth chapter establishes initiatives to combat radicalism promoted by virtualized polarization. Finally, it was concluded that, in fact, new legal measures must be taken; above all, for the full decrease of the problem, it is necessary, jointly, that society seeks a culture of tolerance and pacification.
