Synopsis

This study delves into the urban mobility challenges in Belo Horizonte, focusing
on the perspectives of ride-sharing app drivers regarding the need for dedicated
boarding and alighting areas. Detailed interviews revealed widespread dissatisfaction with the current infrastructure, which does not keep pace with the increased use of transportation apps. Respondents frequently reported double-parking, fines, and safety risks for passengers, underscoring the lack of suitable spaces for boarding and alighting. The unanimity in their views underscores the urgency for infrastructural interventions and collaborative public policies that promote more organized and safe traffic. The analysis suggests the need for urban planning that integrates mobility education, technology, and community participation, aiming for an efficient and sustainable transportation system.
