Cross-cutting policies in addressing domestic violence against women

Synopsis

This article pertains to legislation that combat domestic violence against women, such as Maria da Penha Law and transversal public policies to combat this violence. The aim is to show the current legislation and describe the existing transversal policies in this struggle, so that it is possible verify what can be improved, so that violence rate against women decrease. To achieve the purpose, quantitative and qualitative methodology were used, such as statistical data on violence commited against women in Minas Gerais and the doctrines and legislation on the subject. Thus, it is possible to conclude that there is a need for awareness among all individuals in society, as well as greater assistance, that is, to treat not only physical wounds, but psychological ones as well.
