Handling information is a process of great care, regardless of society or time, as they keep records of stories, societies, people and confidential data that should only be accessed by select groups. With the advent of the internet and globalization, the recording and transmission of public and personal data has become more and more intense, which has come to require some filtering and care so that they do not fall into malicious hands. Despite this, the lack of clarity when processing data was an essential point for the development of the General Data Protection Law, which allowed the user to objectively understand what data is captured, what will be done and the permanence with the database. Therefore, it is necessary to conceptualize the regulation of the law, its scope and the point of view according to different authors, in order to develop a critical analysis in the development of the theme. At the end, it is expected that the importance of the LGPD for the development of society will be understood, mainly in cybernetic means, through which thousands of information are transmitted simultaneously, as well as the penalties triggered by its non-compliance.
