Violência doméstica e familiar contra a mulher: com ênfase no abuso emocional

This article proposes a discussion about the importance of new Brazilian legislation that penalizes the aggressor and protects women's rights, seeking greater speed and effectiveness in protective measures. In this sense, the objective of this article is to explore the contemporary factor, in order to ascertain the degree of efficiency of such recently implemented norms, with regard to the fight against emotional violence against women. The methodology used was deductive, developed through legal doctrines and articles published in printed or electronic magazines. Indirect documentary research is also used, developed through jurisprudence and Brazilian legislation. Initially, we sought to address the historicity of violence against women. Then it was necessary to deal with the various ways in which women can be victims of aggression. Finally, we sought to specifically address emotional violence against women, analyzing both the Penal Code and Law nº. 14,550/2023. Finally, it was concluded that, in fact, there is evolution in the new legislation, above all, in addition to its provisions, it is perceived that there is a need to create a culture of non-aggression towards women.
