Profile of cyber crimes in Brazil

Synopsis

Virtual crimes are crimes carried out by a technological device, devices that are part of the daily life of the Brazilian population and that play an important role in the communication between individuals, misconduct represents a social and legislative problem according to the increase in the number of crimes virtual. In view of this problem, this research was developed, which aims to identify virtual crimes, evaluate public policies developed to combat crimes and investigate the preventive measures used by users of the virtual environment. Applying a data survey through the banks DFNDR lab- PSafe Cybersecurity Laboratory, SAFERNET- Operational Support Center for the Child and Adolescent Public Prosecutor's Office. and ANATEL- National Telecommunications Agency, in the periods from January to December 2006 to 2014 and 2018, of the number and types of virtual crimes, investigating the present and applied legislation of the following punishments and enriching the results obtained with bibliographic reviews on the subject of study. When analyzing the databases, the growth of new virtual crimes is notable, such as the appearance of misleading advertisements, false awards, copies of real applications that carry out false ads, loans and consortiums, with the appearance of new crimes it is necessary to apply stricter punishments, the development of and enactment of laws and prevention to combat cybercrime.
