Synopsis

Dentistry faces the daily challenge of diagnosing various lesions that present in the clinic. To achieve a precise diagnosis and effective therapeutic intervention, the use of imaging exams has become indispensable, allowing for a detailed evaluation of the images and characteristics of the lesions. These exams have become an excellent tool in the dental arsenal; however, their effectiveness is directly conditioned by the knowledge of the dental surgeon, who needs to be familiar with craniofacial anatomy and possible pathological variations. This study is a literature review and clinical case analysis aimed at exploring the differentiation capacity of specific lesions such as ameloblastoma, odontogenic keratocyst, and myxoma.
