Synopsis

Leopard Syndrome, a variant of Noonan syndrome, is a rare genetic condition, associated with
mutations in the PTPN11, BRAF and RAF1 genes. This syndrome is part of the group of “RASopathies” inhibiting
the RAS/MAPK signaling pathway, leading to complications in physical, cognitive and systemic development. The term
Leopard is the acronym for the main characteristics of the syndrome, whose sufferers present orofacial dysmorphic
characteristics and atypical manifestations present in the oral cavity. This work aims to address Leopard syndrome
through a narrative literature review, highlighting the orofacial dysmorphic characteristics of the syndrome.
Furthermore, it highlights the importance of early dental follow-up and in-depth knowledge about the syndrome for
effective dental management. The article uses the hypothetical-deductive method as its main approach. The
research was conducted through a literature review, analyzing articles available on the PubMed and Google
Scholar portals.
